Script supervisor

The Script Supervisor (or Script Wrangler) assumes the following duties:

  • Ensuring that all cast members have a copy of the script, with an eye towards version control.
    • In the event of a live performance, other groups that must have scripts include Foley, Music, Recorded SFX, and the Production Assistant or Floor Manager.
  • Ensuring that the script is followed closely and that lines are not omitted (shared responsibility with the Director).

Studio Recordings

  • All of the above responsibilities.
  • Marking off each line of the script as it is recorded.
  • Tracking the number of takes for each line or scene.
  • Noting which take was the preferred take.
  • Noting pick-ups or other punch in lines.
